An Indian travel company has developed a network of NRIs, who can come to the aid of visitors from India facing emergencies in a foreign land.

In order to help people in cases of emergencies while they are travelling abroad, EaseMyTrip, a leading travel website from India, has tied up with more than 450 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) across major world cities.

The website connects people to local Indians who are willing to help them in case of emergency including medical, theft, and immigration.

“The NRI network services is something that we offer in case of emergencies. If our customers face any kind of problem or emergency at a foreign location, they call their travel expert in the company who then makes arrangements for them through our network,” Nishant Pitti, CEO, EaseMyTrip told Media India Group.

The company claims to have introduced this service to win the confidence of its customers. The company offers all possible medical aid and tries to help travellers with custom formalities through their extended network of NRIs at major tourist destinations.

“We strongly believe that instead of spending crazily on over hyped marketing campaigns, one should focus on earning loyalty of the customers through efforts and services. We are trying to strengthen our network and bond with costumers,” said Pitti.

The company has already started seeing positive results from this initiative. Recently a tourist, who found himself in an emergency during midnight in Budapest was put in touch with the NRIs there to help him in hospitalising his daughter.

In another instance, where EaseMyTrip had arranged a trip to Bangkok and Pattaya for a group, in the month of January this year, a girl met with an accident. “The group contacted us for the help and we did our best to help them out through this NRI network. Our team made arrangements for hospitalisation and treatments,” Pitti told us.

“Last month when an old couple went to Singapore for meeting their son, they lost their hand baggage, which had their mobile phones and other valuable goods. Since they couldn’t connect with their son, they called their travel expert at EaseMyTrip from airport, who helped them through the NRI network,” Pitti shared with us.

As per the company, this kind of service makes them one of a kind in the sphere. “We are not expecting huge growth in the number of customers through this initiative but it will definitely turn our users into our potential consumers and help us in growing as potential brand of future,” Pitti added.
