M2M Ferries receives Maritime Achiever's Award
Three years after itw as launched as Mumbai’s first passenger Ro-pax service, a joint initiative by the Maharashtra Maritime Board and Mumbai Port Trust Authority, M2M Ferries has bagged the Maritime Achiever’s Award at the recent Global Maritime Summit.
According to a press statement, over the last three years, M2M Ferries has maintained 99 pc punctuality and that it has transported over 1.5 million passengers, more than 250,000 vehicles, including 75,000 two-wheelers.
It is the first Ro-Pax service that connects Mumbai and Mandwa, carrying 500 passengers and 130 vehicles and comes with a section exclusively for pets. The ferry cuts the usual travel time from five hours by road to just 1 hour by sea, providing all-weather connectivity.
The company adds that beyond delivering exceptional service, M2M Ferries is dedicated to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. Notably, the company boasts a female presence in every department, including engineering, and is led by CEO Devika Saigal, one of the few women CEOs in the maritime sector. M2M Ferries is also one of the few ferries in India equipped to accommodate differently-abled passengers.

The statement adds that in addition to exceptional ferry service, M2M Ferries has worked to create a terminal that passengers eagerly anticipate. Recently, the terminal welcomed an internationally renowned coffee brand, Starbucks. By attracting such brands to their terminal, M2M Ferries is ensuring that local villagers have access to new job opportunities and skills development.
