GAMI to host the 3rd World Defense Show in Riyadh under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud patronage

World Defense Show (WDS), organised by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is set to return for its 3rd edition in Riyadh from February 8-12.

The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), under the patronage of the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Ruler of Saudi Arabia, will host the 3rd edition of the World Defense Show (WDS) in Riyadh from February 8-12, bringing together official delegations, government entities and leading global defence and security companies, with a strong focus on innovation, localisation and international collaboration.

In a press statement, GAMI Governor Ahmad Al-Ohal says that the upcoming edition reflects the Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to defence innovation, localisation and the development of an integrated defence ecosystem through platforms that connect Saudi government entities with international partners.

The show will feature a comprehensive programme, including live air and land demonstrations, static displays and newly developed zones, aimed at enhancing opportunities for partnership and integration between Saudi entities and major national and global defence companies.

According to the statement, WDS supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives, particularly the goal of localising more than 50 pc of military spending, while contributing to improved operational readiness and strengthening the Kingdom’s strategic independence in the defence sector.

“The exhibition is supported by a fully equipped on-site airport featuring a 2,700-metre runway, four taxiways and expansive display areas showcasing the latest aircraft, reinforcing WDS’s position as a leading global defence event capable of hosting large-scale integrated displays,” says Andrew Pearcey, Chief Executive Officer, World Defense Show.
