InterContinental Kodaikanal Resort will offer 100 rooms with cottages and luxury amenities for both leisure and corporate guests
Reinforcing its foothold in southern India, IHG Hotels & Resorts, a leading hospitality group, has announced a management agreement with Adyar Gate Hotels to develop the InterContinental Kodaikanal Resort. Slated to open in 2028, this venture marks a significant expansion of IHG’s luxury portfolio in the region.
In a press statement, IHG says that this signing marks the InterContinental brand’s debut in Kodaikanal and its sixth property in India, following successful ventures in Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Delhi.
It adds that the InterContinental Kodaikanal Resort will offer 100 rooms with cottages and luxury amenities for both leisure and corporate guests.
The chain says that the resort will offer five dining options, including All Day Dining, Specialty Restaurant, Lobby Lounge, Pool Bar, and InterContinental Club Lounge. It will also feature a pool, fitness centre, and spa for guests looking to unwind.
It adds that the new property will feature two meeting spaces, including a ballroom for social gatherings and MICE opportunities.
The statement adds that IHG currently operates 46 hotels across five brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express, with a strong pipeline of 58 hotels set to open in the next 3-5 years.
