Domestic travellers remained overwhelming part of the total tourist arrivals in Rajasthan as the state registered over 109.2 million total tourist visits in the first six months of the current year.
In a press statement, Rajasthan Tourism said that the number of domestic tourists stood at 108.36 million while the foreign tourist arrivals numbered 845,000, as the figures underline the continued dominance of domestic tourism in the state. The latest tourism performance reinforces position of Rajasthan as one of India’s leading tourism destinations.
Rajasthan Tourism Board says that the performance builds on a strong 2025, when Rajasthan recorded approximately 254.44 million tourist visits, including more than 252.5 million domestic visitors. Domestic tourist visits registered a 9.74 pc increase over 2024, demonstrating sustained growth in the State’s domestic tourism market.

The statement adds, domestic tourism remained particularly strong this year across several destinations, Sikar emerged as the leading district during January to June with 15.62 million, followed by Chittorgarh with 13.38 million and Jaisalmer with 11.83 million. Ajmer records 9.93 million along Jaipur with 8.15 million, Karauli with 6.40 million, Sawai Madhopur with 6.19 million, Sirohi with 6.11 million, Udaipur with 4.76 million and Churu with 3.41 million.
Foreign tourism continued to be concentrated around Rajasthan’s established international destinations. Jaipur led foreign tourist visits during first half of the year with 256,000 visits, followed by Udaipur with 184,000, Jodhpur with 83,000 and Jaisalmer with 66,000. Jaipur alone accounted for approximately 30 pc of all foreign tourist visits recorded in Rajasthan, it says.
