As part of its outreach in Eastern India, Karnataka Tourism held a roadshow in Kolkata, aimed at strengthening engagement with the regional travel trade community.

In a press statement, Karnataka Tourism says that the roadshow was part of its strategic focus on positioning Eastern India as a source market. The event brought together tour operators, travel agents and industry representatives from Kolkata and surrounding regions.

It adds that the roadshow showcased key destinations across the state, including Hampi, Mysuru and Badami, as well as Coorg, Chikmagalur and Kabini.  Additionally, other featured circuits included Bengaluru, Shravanabelagola, Udupi and Dharmasthala.

Karnataka Tourism says that the event included networking sessions and destination presentations aimed at strengthening ties with the travel trade and offering updates on tourism offerings. The department highlighted upcoming initiatives centred on eco-friendly practices, rural circuits and experience-based travel.

The statement says that the delegation was led by Rajendra KV, Commissioner, Karnataka Tourism.

Karnataka Tourism says that participants were given an overview of existing circuits, infrastructure improvements, and future packages aligned with changing traveller preferences. Additionally, the roadshow also introduced lesser-known destinations, which was suited for specialised interest groups.

The southern state tourism department says that Kolkata roadshow forms part of a broader national campaign aimed at increasing visibility and building trade partnerships across India. Karnataka Tourism has expressed appreciation for the continued support of the Eastern India travel trade and says it looks forward to future collaborations.
