Historian Murad Ali Baig, author of ‘Ocean of Cobras’, ‘80 questions about India’, explains in an exclusive interview with Media India Group why the Mughal heritage (16th to 19th century) is so vibrant yet in India, from poetry to unique monuments such as the Humayuns’ Tomb or the Taj Mahal. But also in these hundreds of smaller monuments that are a delight for the traveller all around India. He points at the efforts made to preserve these treasures, even if heritage preservation is still to be fully developed.
