Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Anupam Kher and Irrfan Khan, among many others, have made it big with stunning performances internationally. And, with the start of 2017, many others are in the line to join them.

While several Bollywood actors have already made their presence felt globally, for instance, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with ‘The Pink Panther 2’ and ‘The Last Legion’ and Priyanka Chopra who has already made a big name in Hollywood through her international music albums and television series, ‘Quantico’, a couple of other silver screen stars are set to light up the international screens. Here is a look at their premiere international projects.

Deepika Padukone


After romancing Vin Diesel in ‘xXx: the Return of Xander Cage’, released this year in January, Deepika has already opened her account in Hollywood. And, the actress is now looking to cement her place in global cinema with the role of a slum dweller in Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s first English film that will be shot in India, titled ‘Floating Gardens’.

 

Dhanush


After winning hearts with his performance in the Bollywood flick ‘Ranjhana’, Dhanush will now play the lead in Marjane Satrapi’s movie adaptation of the French best-seller, ‘The Extraordinary Journey Of the Fakir Who Got Trapped In The Ikea Wardrobe’ by Romain Puértolas, which will be shot in India, France, Morocco and Italy. The novel about the religious person, named Ajatashatru Oghash Rathod, who lives solely on alms, was first published in 2014 and became a huge hit in France and around the world. Dhanush will play Aja, a conjurer from an Indian colony of artists, who is sent to Paris on a hush-hush mission by his mother.

 

Ali Fazal


Though Ali Fazal did a very brief role in an English movie years ago, the Fukrey actor is all set to make it big with playing the lead alongside Academy Award-winning, British legend, Judi Dench in a Hollywood film titled ‘Victoria and Abdul’. He will play the role of Abdul Karim, a young servant from India who becomes an unlikely confidant and teacher to Judi Dench.

 

Richa Chadda


After making her presence felt in Bollywood, the talented actress will be seen in David Womark’s Indo-American production, titled ‘Love Sonia’. The film, directed by Tabrez Noorani, will depict brutal realities of human trafficking across the globe and will be shot in Mumbai, followed by a schedule in Los Angeles.
