Air India is expanding services to Madhya Pradesh
Ahead of the busy winter travel season, Air India has announced the addition of 174 weekly flights on key domestic and short-haul international routes as part of its Northern Winter Schedule, starting from October 26.
According to a press statement, these new services, operated by the airline’s single-aisle aircraft, aim to boost connectivity across major Indian cities and popular destinations in Southeast Asia where demand remains high.
The statement adds that on international routes, flights between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur will increase from seven to 10 per week from November 15, while services between Delhi and Denpasar in Bali, Indonesia, will also rise from seven to 10 weekly flights starting December 1.
Domestically, Air India is adding seasonal flights to destinations across Rajasthan, including new routes from Delhi to Jaipur and Jaisalmer, and increased frequencies on existing routes such as Delhi to Udaipur and Mumbai to Jaipur, Udaipur, and Jodhpur.
The airline is also expanding services to Madhya Pradesh, with more daily flights between Delhi and Indore, Bhopal, and from Mumbai to Indore. In Gujarat, there will be more flights from Mumbai to Bhuj and from Delhi to Rajkot, adds the statement.
Additional domestic routes seeing increased frequencies include Delhi to Varanasi, Raipur, Port Blair, Aurangabad, Guwahati, and Nagpur, along with Mumbai to Dehradun, Patna and Amritsar.
Meanwhile, Air India says its cabin upgrade programme for its older Airbus A320neo aircraft is almost complete. Since its launch in September 2024, 26 out of 27 legacy A320neo planes have been fitted with brand-new interiors across Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class.
The statement adds that combined with the rest of its modern A320 family fleet, Air India now operates over 100 aircraft with updated cabin designs, providing a much-improved travel experience on more than 80 domestic and regional international routes.
