Air India Express has rolled out a new brand campaign, ‘Xplore More, Xpress More’, and continues its Tales of India initiative
Strengthening its fleet modernisation drive Air India Express, a low-cost subsidiary of Air India, has inducted its first line-fit Boeing 737-8 aircraft to expands capacity, standardises cabins and deepens connectivity across India and key international markets.
In a press statement, Air India Express says that the aircraft is configured to the airline’s specifications and is scheduled to enter service in January, forming part of its ongoing fleet modernisation programme.
The statement adds that the line-fit 737-8 incorporates cabin features aligned with Air India Express’ new branding, including redesigned seating, power outlets at every seat, onboard ovens for hot meals, larger overhead bins and Boeing’s Sky Interior with mood lighting. It adds that the aircraft is intended to standardise passenger experience across the growing fleet.

According to statement this induction makes Air India Express the country’s largest Boeing operator, with over 100 aircraft in service. Since its transition to the Tata group, the airline has rapidly expanded its fleet, adding multiple Airbus A320 and A321 variants in 2025 alongside the Boeing 737-8s. Two-thirds of its fleet now consists of next-generation narrow-body aircraft.
The airline has also launched a retrofit programme for its existing Boeing 737-8 aircraft. Under this plan, 50 aircraft will be reconfigured to a uniform 189-seat layout. Two aircraft have already completed the retrofit, with the remainder to follow in phases.
It adds that fleet expansion has supported network growth, with Air India Express now operating flights to 60 destinations across India, the Middle East, South East Asia and South Asia. The airline has added 12 destinations in 2025, with a focus on improving connectivity to and from Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

It further adds that alongside operational changes, Air India Express has rolled out a new brand campaign, ‘Xplore More, Xpress More’, and continues its Tales of India initiative, which features aircraft tail designs inspired by regional art forms from across the country. The campaign and visual identity are positioned as part of the airline’s broader transformation following its integration into the Tata group.
