Air India Express launches flights from New Delhi to seven cities

The expansion aims to improve access between Delhi and major cultural, tourism, and economic centers across the country

Air India Express, a low-cost carrier, has announced a major expansion from Delhi with new direct flights to seven destinations namely Goa, Imphal, Lucknow, Port Blair, Amritsar, Jodhpur and Udaipur starting from October 26. The move aims to enhance connectivity between the capital and key cultural and economic centers, with bookings now open across all major platforms.

To strengthen its footprint in Delhi, Air India Express, the low-cost subsidiary of Air India, has announced new direct flights from Delhi to seven destinations namely Goa Imphal, Lucknow, Port Blair, Amritsar, Jodhpur, and Udaipur expanding its domestic network from October 26. Bookings are now open on the airline’s website, mobile app, and other major travel platforms.

In a press statement, Air India Express says that the new routes will start in phases, with flights to Goa, Imphal, Lucknow, and Port Blair beginning on October 26, services to Amritsar starting October 28, and operations to Jodhpur and Udaipur commencing from November 1. The expansion aims to improve access between Delhi and major cultural, tourism, and economic centers across the country.

The statement adds that this move is part of Air India Express’ ongoing growth strategy to strengthen connectivity from major metros, linking popular domestic and regional destinations across South Asia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The announcement follows a record phase of network expansion from the airline’s key hubs, Bengaluru and Delhi. With a fleet of 115 aircraft operating over 500 daily services to 43 domestic and 17 international destinations, Air India Express continues to emerge as a key player in India’s aviation landscape.

According to the statement, the airline also highlights India’s cultural legacy through its ‘Tales of India’ initiative, which showcases more than 50 traditional art forms such as Madhubani, Bandhani, and Kalamkari on its aircraft liveries. Travellers can book bundled holiday experiences through Xpress Holidays, the airline’s curated platform that offers flights, stays, local transport, and sightseeing options. Guests onboard will also be able to enjoy freshly prepared Gourmair hot meals and a seamless, digital-first booking experience.

From Delhi NCR, Air India Express now operates over 400 weekly flights from Indira Gandhi International Airport to 24 domestic and two international destinations, alongside more than 60 services from Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad. Starting October 26, all domestic flights will operate from Terminal 1, while international services will continue from Terminal 3, it adds.
