In a significant expansion of its domestic network, low-cost carrier Akasa Air has commenced operations from Noida International Airport. The launch strengthens connectivity between the National Capital Region and Navi Mumbai, while reinforcing the airline’s footprint in one of India’s key aviation markets.

In a press statement, Akasa Air says that it launched services on Tuesday with its inaugural flight arriving at Noida from Navi Mumbai International Airport. A return flight departed shortly thereafter, establishing the first direct link between the two newly developed airports.

The statement adds that the move marks a significant addition to Akasa Air’s domestic network strategy as the carrier seeks to strengthen connectivity in one of India’s largest aviation markets. The NCR is a key source of both business and leisure travel, and Noida International Airport is expected to play an important role in handling future passenger growth in northern India.

Akasa Air says that its entry into Noida aligns with its plans to expand operations in high-growth markets while supporting the development of new aviation infrastructure. The airline is looking to build a broader network from the airport over time, improving access to destinations across India and overseas.

Beyond passenger services, Akasa Air also plans to establish a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility within the airport premises. The facility will support aircraft maintenance operations and form part of the airport’s broader aviation ecosystem, says the statement.
