Smart Shooter, a private Israeli company that produces electro-optical fire control systems for small arms based on Artificial Intelligence, says it has received a order from the Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401), marking a new step in its engagement with the United States Department of Defence.

In a press statement, Smart Shooter says that the contract, valued at approximately USD 2.4 million, covers the supply of Smash 2000LE fire control systems, along with spare parts and training. It also includes options worth an additional USD 2.3 million.

The statement adds that the order enables US military services to procure Smart Shooter systems including Smash 2000LE, Smash X4, and Smash Hopper 5000 through JIATF-401’s Market-Place acquisition channel. The systems are intended for counter-small unmanned aerial system (C-sUAS) operations.

JIATF-401 was established to coordinate counter-drone efforts across US military and federal agencies. It oversees requirements, testing, training and procurement related to counter-UAS capabilities, working with armed forces and industry partners.

The Smash 2000LE system, also referred to as Smash 3000SA, is a handheld fire control system designed for integration with external sensors and battle management platforms. It uses computer vision and target tracking to enable operators to detect and engage aerial and ground targets, including small drones, says the statement.

Smart Shooter says the system is already deployed by defence and security forces in multiple countries, including the United States, Israel, the United Kingdom and Germany, as well as NATO member states.

The company adds that the contract reflects demand for soldier-level counter-drone systems as military forces expand their response to small unmanned aerial threats.

“We are proud to receive our first order from JIATF-401, marking an important step in expanding the availability of Smash fire control systems across US forces. The selection reflects the growing operational demand for effective, soldier-level counter-drone capabilities, and we remain committed to supporting U.S. military requirements with proven, field-ready solutions,” says Michal Mor, CEO, Smart Shooter.
