Hospitality company Indian Hotels Company Limited has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel in Mohali. The 225-key hotel aligns with the company’s strategy to expand in high-potential markets.

India’s largest hospitality company Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), member of the Tata Group, has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel at Mohali in Punjab.
In a press release, IHCL says that the 225-key Taj Mohali, a greenfield project, will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a bar and a specialty restaurant. The hotel also offers leisure, wellness facilities and a banquet space for weddings, corporate functions and social gatherings, it says.

“Mohali’s emergence as an IT and commercial centre is a key growth market in Punjab. This, coupled with the state’s increasing appeal as a preferred destination for weddings and social events, aligns with our strategy to expand in such high-potential markets,” says Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, IHCL.
The statement adds that with the addition of the hotel, IHCL will have 14 hotels in Punjab, including seven under development.
