The statement adds that the beach destinations also continued to attract visitors. Goa and coastal properties across South India registered an 11 pc year-on-year increase in demand, indicating sustained interest in traditional summer holiday destinations.
The rise in travel demand has also translated into higher room rates. According to Sharma, average daily rates across Radisson’s India portfolio increased by nearly 6 pc over last year.
The company also noted that developments in parts of West Asia have influenced international travel sentiment, leading some travellers to opt for domestic destinations instead. This shift has contributed to stronger demand across several tourism markets within India.
