Leading many activities on sustainable development, including the coordination of the Social Innovation Pavilion and the convening of high-level roundtables, Paris Peace Forum will be attend the Africa Forward Summit being in Kenyan capital Nairobi from May 10-12.

In a press statement, Paris Peace Forum says that the participation in the meeting will expand its policy initiatives on global development.

The statement adds that Paris Peace Forum will coordinate the Social Innovation Pavilion, a multi-stakeholder platform supported by some 50 Pan-African and French civil society organisations to foster collaboration and advance solutions consistent with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

On May 10, the Forum will convene a roundtable discussion on maternal and child health, bringing together key stakeholders including Botswana’s former president, representatives of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Amref Health Africa, Aga Khan Development Network and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the statement says. Discussions will be part of the Forum’s Child Priority Framework effort and will focus on how to maintain political priority for maternal and child health in the face of dwindling public resources.

The Forum will also display its Solutions Hub at the Pavilion, featuring innovative projects on governance, sustainable development and international cooperation. The initiative has supported approximately 600 initiatives around the world since 2018, the statement adds.

On May 12, the Forum will co-host a roundtable on boosting African agriculture with Boston Consulting Group. Senior leaders from organisations including the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, OCP Group, Rockefeller Foundation, Danone and ONE Campaign will come together to discuss African-led value chains, agri-tech innovation and the role of agribusiness in improving food systems, including school nutrition.

The Forum will also have a social event on May 10, in partnership with the Aga Khan Development Network and the Government of Kenya, represented by the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, which will bring together high-level attendees, the statement says.

According to the statement, participation in the conference is consistent with its broader aim to establish coalitions of stakeholders capable of providing meaningful answers to global challenges through multi-actor cooperation.
