Uber to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles by 2026
Partnership with Refex Green Mobility for sustainable mobility in India
Ride-hailing services company Uber has announced its plans to partner with Chennai-based enterprise Refex Green Mobility to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) across key cities in India by 2026.
Aiming to reinforce its efforts to promote clean energy, ride-hailing services company Uber has announced a strategic partnership with Chennai-based company Refex Green Mobility to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) across key cities in India by 2026.
In a press statement, Uber says that this move aligns with Uber’s global commitment to achieve 100 pc emission-free rides by 2040 and aims to reinforce the company’s ongoing efforts to promote clean energy solutions.
It further adds that the fleet of 1,000 EVs will be introduced in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai, marking a significant step in Uber’s electrification efforts and aiming to cater to the growing preference for green mobility solutions in India.

As per press statement, it also adds that as a part of its broader electrification push, Uber has already introduced Uber Green in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Under Uber Green, passengers can request for an all-electric providing an on-demand EV experience with just a few taps on the app.
According to a press statement, this service is already operating in over 100 cities across 15 countries. Hence with its latest partnership, Uber and Refex eVeelz are making significant strides in expanding electric mobility options in India, paving the way for a greener and more sustainable urban transportation ecosystem.
