Agriculture has been the backbone of Indian economy. And the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) has been serving as a national farmer cooperative marketing organisation since 1958. Apart from marketing of agriculture produce, stabilising price of essential commodities and providing remuneration to farmers, the federation diversifies its activities with the launch of NAFED tea and pulses.
