The event was attended by around 100 exhibitors from all across India, including bridal apparel exhibitors such as ‘91 Threads’ from Ahmedabad, Dar-e-Aab by Sonia K Mahajan from Dubai, Bhupesh Saini from Punjab, Mograa Couture by Ameena, Delhi and jewellery exhibitors such as Jaipur Emporium Jewellers, Calcutta, Navvkar Jewellers, Chandigarh and Panchrattan Jewellers.

“Our ideal clientele is anybody and everybody who has a wedding-related query for products, that could be the bride and groom, their family or even customers looking for festive wear. It is like providing one platform to give access to multiple things. It is the Season 2 in Delhi and each event is carefully curated and is different from the one that’s happened before. We are promoting brands who are really great with their products. Wedding Asia caters to all of your needs when it comes to weddings or festivities,” Bhawana Yadav, Marketing Manager of Wedding Asia tells Media India Group.

The show received a good response from both the customers, who were in awe of the range of collections, and exhibitors, content with the number of positive buyers. The tailor-made wedding exhibition featured all the essentials for the ‘perfect, dreamy wedding’.

“On the first day, the footfall was good. Customers have loved drape sarees, shararas, lehengas, neckties and such suits. Gazal Gupta designs are really trending. We are getting a lot of requests for pastel colours like lavender and green. People now are more inclined towards lighter, elegant colours, although the traditional red is timeless, pastel colour is the trend of the hour now. The under INR 40,000 segment has been the most selling,” says Shagun from Perfection House, Delhi, one of the  wedding wear apparel exhibitors.

The ‘great Indian wedding’ has been an ever booming business, which continues to be so till today. As per a report by Economist, Indians spend close to USD 130 billion annually on weddings and it is India’s fourth-largest industry, just behind energy, banking and insurance. In the last two months of 2022 alone, it was estimated at USD 46 billion and this figure was USD 159 billion H1 2023.

“The products in the range of INR 100,000 to INR 1 million have been the most selling. Fusion diamond jewellery has been the most trending right now. People have become really educated about diamonds, so they are now very introspective about the quality of diamonds. Whereas previously, customers would just buy diamonds based on the pricing. Now they check every detail, size, colour, everything and then only they invest,” says a jewellery exhibitor from Delhi.

Wedding Asia also has an upcoming show ‘Roopkatha’ in Dubai, UAE, on October 27 and 28, showcasing designers and jewellers from India. The 2nd edition of the show is slated to be hosted in upscale Anantara Downtown Dubai hotel.
