In a significant step toward expanding its footprint in India, Bangkok-based Minor Hotels has launched its Avani brand in India with Avani Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort. Nestled along the Sunray Beach, this new-build resort project brings a fresh wave of contemporary luxury to the coastal city of Visakhapatnam.
In a press statement the hospitality group says that the resort, scheduled for completion by 2028, will include 117 hotel rooms and 58 branded residential villas.
It adds that the resort will be built on a 25.5-acre site near the upcoming Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, expected to open in 2026, and close to National Highways 16 and 26.

The statement adds that the project will feature three food and beverage venues, a banqueting hall, a spa, a gym, a swimming pool and a beach bar.
It adds that it will also include a nine-hole par-three golf course aimed at both beginners and experienced players.

It adds that the Visakhapatnam project is positioned to serve the city’s growing demand from both leisure travellers and business visitors, particularly with the rise of IT Special Economic Zones and infrastructure upgrades in the region.
The statement adds that the project is being developed by Sunray Green Space, a real estate firm based in Visakhapatnam. It adds that the resort is expected to be a key addition to the region’s hospitality infrastructure, supporting both tourism and the local economy.
