Interview with Dipa Chaudhuri, Chief Editor, Om Books International

The world-renowned French comic The Adventures of Asterix is now available in Hindi. This is, thanks to the patience and precision of New Delhi based publisher Om Books International, which already translated Tintin, another famous comic into Hindi. The success is already visible since India’s comic culture is a vibrant one. Media India interviewed Dipa Chaudhuri, Chief Editor at Om Books International. She is French culture’s and language’s connoisseur and explains that the biggest challenge is to stay faithful to Asterix’s original spirit, while adapting it proficiently. She also dwells on the languages issues.
