We are in Shillong, the capital of the north eastern state of Meghalaya. Pork is heartily eaten here. While smoked pork and pork curry are some popular dishes, here is a recipe for something more quick to prepare.
‘Old Famous Jalebi Wala’ has been around since 1888 in Old Delhi; having been in operation for the past four generations of the family now. This Chandni Chowk-based shop is especially famous for the piping hot, thick and juicy, freshly made jalebis that they offer. Their USP is that they use desi khandsari sugar (Muscovado) for making the syrup instead of regular sugar, and the jalebis are prepared using desi ghee (Clarified butter), cooked over coal-fire. The view of the jalebis being made is a visual delight as it is done live in front of your eyes in the small shop at the corner of Dariba Kalan Road.
The first dog-friendly cafe in the capital Delhi, Puppychino is a dedicated space for them to play in, and a space for dog parents to work as well as enjoy some great food. People who don’t have furry friends can also de-stress with official Puppychino mascots – labradors, huskies and other dogs at the cafe. Along with a special dog food menu and pet merchandise and also has a salon for their grooming needs.
