Flipkart has tied up with state transport corporations and private aggregators to offer the choice of 1 million bus connections

E-commerce giant Flipkart has entered the bus travel business with the launch of sale of bus tickets on its app, in collaboration with state transport corporations and private aggregators.

In order to tap the potentially lucrative market of bus travel in India, e-commerce giant Flipkart has tied up with state transport corporations and private aggregators to offer the choice of 1 million bus connections, with connectivity to over 25,000 routes across India.

In a press statement, Flipkart says that the introduction of bus services on its platform marks a strategic move towards addressing the dynamic needs of travellers, leveraging its robust customer base and recognising the synergy with bus travellers.

Flipkart says it aims to revolutionise the landscape of affordable travel. Additionally, the unique offering of redeeming super coins for bus bookings further enhances the value proposition for both new and existing customers, it adds.

According to the statement, Flipkart’s bus booking service boasts access to exclusive deals, transparent pricing without convenience fees or hidden charges, and the option to redeem super coins for discounts of up to INR 50. Customers can also avail of a flat 15 pc discount, plus an additional 5 pc off on super coins for bus bookings until April 15, 2024
