Mumbai rated as India’s most forgetful city in Uber’s Lost and Found Index
Wedding saree, gold biscuit, 25 kg of cow ghee, among the list of unusual forgotten items

Mumbai has surpassed Delhi as the most forgetful city in India, according to the 9th Lost and Found Index released by car-hailing app Uber. Phones, wallets, and bags are frequently forgotten, but unusual items like wedding sarees and cow ghee were also left behind by passengers.

Uber, a ride-hailing services company, has released its 9th edition of the Lost and Found Index which says that Mumbai has nudged Delhi to take the dubious title of India’s Most Forgetful City.
In a press statement, Uber says that the index offers a thorough overview of the most commonly forgotten objects, the most forgetful cities, and the times when Uber users are most likely to forget things.
The statement adds that while Mumbai surpassed Delhi to become India’s most forgetful city, Bengaluru fell to fourth place and Pune jumped two spots to third place. Interestingly, Kolkata rose to the fifth most forgetful city in the top five.
Uber says that according to the index, the most frequently left-behind items in Ubers throughout India are wallets, phones, earphones, and bags. Clothing, keys, and spectacles also have a significant place on this list.
The statement says that it is interesting to note that a lot of riders neglected their passports, which could cause serious problems for passengers.
The statement adds that a cooking stove, 25 kg of cow ghee, a wedding saree and a gold biscuit are among the unusual items that have been left behind, demonstrating the wide variety of lost possessions.
Additionally, when the patterns are examined, Saturdays are found to be the days when forgetfulness is most prevalent, and in terms of colour, items that are red, blue or yellow are the most frequently forgotten.
According to the statement, in the evenings, especially around 19:00, there is a greater chance of forgetting things and festive days had the most items left in Uber taxis.
The statement adds that over the past year, users of Samsung devices were noticeably more likely to be forgetful, and Hyderabad was the city with the fewest forgetful riders,.

The statement adds that Uber’s Lost and Found Index not only highlights trends but also provides riders on how to retrieve lost items.
