In a press statement, SGS announced the launch of its extensive PFAS testing services for all industries. From consumer products and electronics to food and the environment, SGS provides tailored solutions to meet each sector’s specific needs.

It adds that as the leader in PFAS testing, SGS is the preferred partner for organisations aiming to create positive environmental impacts. With extensive expertise, cutting-edge labs and broad accreditation, ensures precise PFAS analysis.

SGS says that its expert teams deliver precise testing to help stakeholders meet regulations and ensure product safety, minimising PFAS contamination, protecting public health and preventing harmful environmental leaching.

It adds that PFAS, known for their oil and water-repellent properties, are persistent and toxic chemicals harmful to health and the environment. Prolonged exposure can lead to cancer, thyroid issues, reduced fertility and weakened immunity.

The statement adds that SGS has pioneered PFAS detection since concerns arose from contamination in Parkersburg, Virginia, in the early 2000s.
