IATO invites Odisha Deputy CM for 40th Annual Convention

Odisha will serve as the host state for the convention: IATO

The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), led by President Ravi Gosain, met Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister of Odisha, to invite her to 40th IATO Annual Convention.

Ahead of the 40th IATO Annual Convention, the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), a leading travel association, visited Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister, Pravati Parida, to invite her to the upcoming convention, which is scheduled to be held from August 22nd to 25th in Puri.

In a press statement, IATO says that the delegation included Vice President Sanjay Razdan, former President Rajiv Mehra, Eastern Region Chairman J K Mohanty, and IATO Odisha Chapter Chairman Gagan Sarangi.

It adds that Parida has agreed to attend the convention and assured full support from both the Directorate of Tourism and the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC). She also noted that special arrangements would be made for seamless entry for IATO delegates to visit the Lord Jagannath Temple, and that beautification work would be carried out at Puri Beach. In addition, she also agreed to host delegates at OTDC properties during the post-convention tours.

As per a press statement, IATO says that the team met the state’s Tourism Director, Mansi Nimbhal, to extend an invitation and seek further support. In response, she assured full cooperation for the event.

According to a press statement, the association says that Odisha will serve as the host state for the convention, with organisers expecting participation from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, as well as representatives from 15 to 18 other states.

As per the press statement, IATO says that it anticipates a turnout of approximately 1,200 delegates from across India, with attendees expected to include senior officials from central and state tourism departments, industry leaders, tourism & hospitality professionals, and members of the travel trade media.

Additionally, the national body says that, to promote the state in both domestic and international tourism markets, post-convention tours will be dedicated to highlighting various destinations in the eastern state.
