IndiGo will be the inaugural airline to operate from Navi Mumbai International Airport
IndiGo, India’s largest airline and Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), the nation’s leading public-private partnership airport operator, have partnered to announce the commencement of commercial flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
In a press statement, IndiGo says that this collaboration marks a significant industry-first, positioning NMIA as a future hub for both domestic and international travel.
The statement adds that IndiGo will be the inaugural airline to operate from NMIA, launching with 18 daily departures to over 15 cities from day one.
IndiGo says that by November 2025, IndiGo plans to ramp up to 79 daily departures, including 14 international flights. This expansion is set to continue, with over 100 daily departures by March 2026 and a target of 140 daily departures, including 30 international, by November 2026.

The statement adds that the NMIA project, developed as a greenfield airport through a public-private partnership, is designed to handle 20 million passengers and 0.5 million metric tonnes of cargo annually in its initial phase. Once fully operational, the airport will have a capacity to serve 90 million passengers and 3.2 million metric tonnes of cargo each year, featuring state-of-the-art infrastructure and seamless connectivity.
